Frank and Mates: Baby Shop in Kerala

When Muneer Hamza entered a job in the field of baby products retail in Kerala decades ago, he didn’t just see it as another line of business. There is a lot of emotion that goes into the purchase of baby products by new parents and that hope, love and joy was apparent from the very beginning, in all the people he met with. Although if you Look at it purely logically, those years in a couple’s life from the pregnancy through to the beginning of the infant’s school life can be filled with stress and helplessness what with taking care of the financial, physical and emotional sides of the child’s and their own well being, most people still look back on it with no little sense of fond nostalgia. It was the recognition of this selfless dedication in all the parents he came across that prompted Mr. Hamza to move on from working in supply chain management to opening his own baby shop.

“Frank and Mates” the new baby shop in Kerala was opened by Mr. Hamza with the firm belief that retailers of baby products hold a responsibility to provide only the best and safest baby products to their customers. Frank and Mates sells products spanning the whole range of new born, toddler and pre-schooler needs, bringing internationally renowned brands such as Graco, Pierre Cardin, McLaren and Evenflo to your city. The value a parent places on their child’s safety and their happiness in buying products for their infants is often taken advantage of by vendors in the state. In a bid to increase sales and profit, a lot of businessmen stack their stores with all kinds of products, with the least concern for their use, quality or appropriateness.

Take for example, the case of baby walkers. Baby walkers are banned in China and pending a ban in the USA due to the dangers its use can pose to infants. Walkers allow babies to stand up and move on two feet when they would otherwise only be able to crawl, giving them the ability to reach objects at higher levels than before. Some of these objects may be hot beverages such as coffee or tea on a low table or a heated iron box that could cause an infant to burn itself. Walkers give the baby a lot of speed and are unstable on sloping and uneven surfaces. Newer walkers are made wider so that the baby can’t move through doors and come with an auto locking brake that engages when any one wheel of the walker falls to a lower level than the rest. Also, walkers are believed to hamper the child’s natural progress in learning to walk instead of assisting it.

Besides its first store at Thottekaatu road, opposite Kalyan Silks in Kozhencherry, Cochin, Frank and Mates is planning to open another baby shop in Kerala at Calicut and also expand to other states with stores in Chennai and Bangalore. Follow the link for more details: http://frankandmates.com/
